New York Life Insurance Sales Agent in Towson, MD:   (Past Employee - 2009)

Pros

Flexible schedule with ability to make your own hours
Generous commission
Compensation is up to you and the work you put in

Cons

Need more money up front to make money. If you were brand new to the business (as I was), and you had very limited funds (as I did), unless you have significant personal and/or business contacts which could translate into immediate sales, you probably should wait to join the company. But I was definitely impressed with the work environment in the Towson, MD office; good people, good overall support and training.

Advice to Senior Management

Lessen some of the in-class training and assign a mentor to take the new hires out in the field with them for some on-the-job, real-world training to apply what was learned in the class room.
