Pros

Very detailed training, great training materials, keeps everyone up-to-date on all relevant topics, many events to get workers and agents engaged, great management system, equal opportunity for everyone, celebrations of women in the workforce, strong focus on expanding diversity

Cons

Have to shell out money for a lot of your own costs, even business cards. Supplies can be expensive.

Advice to Management

More input from agents on training frequency and topics

    Pros

the only good things about NYL is that they offer real good education and support with cases. There is a nice bonus every month (if you can hit you numbers).

    Cons

This business is very hard, I didn't like the fact of doing a warm list and having to sell insurance to family and friends (DONT ever do it, you will regret it). I just believe there's better companies and places to work for other than this one.

    Pros

The commission is excellent. The ongoing education helps you learn more about products and concepts to help clients. Teamwork and mentoring help you succeed faster than on your own. The office is gorgeous, and extremely professional.

    Cons

The waiting is difficult. There is underwriting, and clients aren't always on your schedule. And it is commission only. That being said, if you come in as an agent in training, versus an experienced agent, you receive a training allowance proportionate to your commission. If you work hard, in time you will make very good money.

    Advice to Management

Be kind. Not sugarcoating, just kind. Don't assume everyone has a thick skin. Agents go through so many hoops, and they have to be very patient. A little teasing is fine. Just don't take it too far. Be truthful. Be kind. Thank you.
