Low pay, high stress.

General Manager (Current Employee)

I have been working at New York Sports Club

ProsYou're entitled to a free gym membership.

ConsVery low pay, high stress, unattainable goals, little room for advancement. The position is extremely demanding, including working nights, weekends, holidays (Thanksgiving & Christmas included). Upper management does not have a good grasp of what it's like to work in the field. Support staff is all paid minimum wage and asked to work difficult hours. Benefits package is not competitive and the company is not "employee friendly."

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease pay and reevaluate the quantity of work for each GM.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Front Desk Associate (Current Employee)
Jersey City, NJ

I have been working at New York Sports Club full-time for more than a year

Pros: There's really no horrible reason not to work here. It's the most stress free environment I've worked in and that's… Cons: Some times members can give you a bit of a hassle trying to get their way but… Advice to Senior Management: Leave GM's some breathing room to get the "small" things their employees need from… More
