I have been working at New York & Company full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Competitive Salaries, but that it where it stops

Cons

Executive members take care of themselves and don't care about the workers. Normally raises were given in April. For 2013 the executive members gave themselves an incentive bonus as a result of the 4th qtr sales, but are not giving raises to any of the workers until possibly August. Some of these bonues Are BIG!!!!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Share the wealth with the "little guy" If it wasn't for them you would not be getting any bonus or even have a company

I have been working at New York & Company full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

there really is only one, some of the most amazing people work for this company. Your peers make the day tolerable but honestly nothing makes the day good or fun or even ok.

    Cons

    micro management
    desperate financial situation
    no vision
    no direction
    execs don't work together
    no room for growth
pay is horrible and raises are less then the basic 3%
managers are scared of fresh young talent and snuff it out
ZERO work life balance, honestly 12 hours day and then working from home after the office closes
if you complain at all you will be treated differently and you will eventually leave or be worked out

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

you act out of desperation and that makes you make bad business decisions and it makes you mean. have respect for the people in your business.

I worked at New York & Company part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Discount is nice, if you really like the clothing.

    Cons

Selling credit in today's economy is stressful and annoying. Its expected to con 2 customers a shift, and not at all likely. So be prepared to get yelled at for the bad economy in which people aren't getting approved for a lousy store card anymore!
