Starting to focus on the right things...and just announced a relaxed dress code!!

Senior Manager (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsGreat brands in a bunch of different categories from tools to cookware to baby gear to writing and more!
JEANS everyday (just announced it this week - right from the CEO!!)
Relatively new CEO is a game-changer. We are starting to understand the new focus and new pace and he is also really focused on outcomes vs. process and powerpoints
Great people that really do want to win
Some pockets of great culture/environment/dynamic (and as usual some opportunities in certain areas too)
Starting to get in a better rhythm around communicating what is going on and when

ConsNeed to figure out and follow through on the things that we can stop doing with the new strategy
Still too much focus on process stuff in certain areas.
Still not great at moving talent across groups

Advice to Senior ManagementThe strategy seems right so let's go there fast and keep the employees posted as we make changes, strides, have challenges etc.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

This is for the Winchester, VA plant. Run while you can.

Shipping Loader (Former Employee) Winchester, VA

I worked at Newell Rubbermaid as a contractor for less than a year

Pros: There are no pro's. Unless your living in your car… Cons: Had to go in with a temp agency first. While there you will be treated like your easily replaced with NO value. Training is close… Advice to Senior Management: I'm not going to bother with advice you won't listen… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More

Bloated with PC folks, good ole boys and marketing teams.

Sales Manager (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Newell Rubbermaid full-time for more than a year

Pros: You are allowed to go home at some point in… Cons: Low pay, terrible upper management, product pipelines are very weak.… Advice to Senior Management: Upper management wouldn't listen to any advice but if they did I would recommend they resign and get out of the way of progress.… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
