I have been working at Newell Rubbermaid full-time

    Pros

Being an intern at Newell Rubbermaid was a great learning experience. There was a lot of integration with the other interns and hands on work instead of pushing papers.

    Cons

Not the greatest office and the some of the electronics outdated

I worked at Newell Rubbermaid full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's truly hard to think of any; could potentially use it as a stepping stone to get a bigger-sounding title than you had at your previous company which could pay off down the road

    Cons

    - Restructuring and layoffs are basically a way of life
    - Because of that everyone is essentially miserable and clings to their chairs out of fear that they'll be next
    - The most overtly political, process burdened and narrow-minded organization you could ever imagine
    - Their are so many layers of management, to get anything done and/or approved is like playing a game of Frogger where you have to wonder which level of management will eventually kill your idea
    - Benefits (particularly health care) are almost laughable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Mike Polk's "latest, greatest" plan to "save" Newell Rubbermaid will fail like the 10-15 plans that have come before it. Company needs to be broken up. If it was as easy as making it mini-Unilever that would have been done by now

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
