Pros

Benefits are great. Co-Workers are very fun and good to work with. Low level Foreman are very knowledgeable and good to work with.

Cons

New top level management is not good, Struggling to get a hold of how there employees feel. Treat employees very badly. Have to be in the right group to move up in the company. They don't base raises on performance it is based on how well they like you. Bonuses for the Newfield are horrible for the industry. Not a place that is good for low level employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees better. Split the bonuses up evenly. Lear how your employees feel about your company. Take a look at the leader running the Myton, UT office.

    A lot of work inept coworkers that get paid way more than me.

    Find people with the technical skills. Not managers with no knowledge or skills.

    Pros

    If you are considered a 'top-tier" performer, your total compensation will match or exceed that of most in industry.

    Cons

    Performance is not always fairly assessed. Compensation is largely tied to performance, so overall compensation may end up below industry average if your manager gives you a poor review. Leadership opportunities at Newfield are given only to smart engineers, not individuals with leadership or people skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Eliminate functional middle managers - they have no true signature authority and therefore cannot make decisions without senior management approval. Therefore, they are merely another layer of bureaucracy. Also, a company the size of Newfield cannot afford to be as risk-averse as management is - in order to continue growing, the company must be willing to invest in high-potential opportunities, even when there is uncertainty.
