    I worked at Nexen

    Pros

Compensation is good and everything else sucks.

    Cons

No respect for human rights and freedoms. They will kick you out regardless of performance because of political games and greediness of people who are there for long time. They would ignore abuse toward other people. Even good compensation is not worth amount of frustration you have to go through.

I'm very glad I'm out from there !!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect for basic human rights. Shame on this company and it's management.

    I worked at Nexen

    Pros

As far as Canadian oil and gas companies, Nexen is one of the best. They act with integrity, conduct their work in a socially responsible manner, and recognize that their employees are one of their greatest assets.

    Cons

There appeared to be a considerable drop in morale over the last year or two, probably attributed to less than stellar performance of a few major projects. With some changes to executive level management, I can see morale improving.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's no big secret that several projects are underperforming. I think it's time to fess up and re-align the company's goals and expectations.
