Current Employee - Home Health Aide in Carmel, IN

I have been working at Nightingale Home Healthcare

Pros

Choice of cases to take on, not a typical healthcarea job, personally rewarding in helping clients

Cons

As a home health aide you have four differnet pay rates and it flucuates based on the care you provide which is choose by scheduling personnel, and needs of client, medicare and medicaid, private pay. Benefit waiting period too long- you must wait 180 days and it is based on a 40 hour work week, it is up to you to make sure you get 40 hours and it is hard to do because some cases are two hours here, four there. Pay includes miliage which you have to keep track of. You must use your own car.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be best if you could hire and pay based on experience, too many pay rates to keep track of. Maybe you could have a meet and greet among employees so that they could switich assignments instead of having call offs

I worked at Nightingale Home Healthcare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There is nothing good about this company.

    Cons

This place has so much turn over. Every week a new position is posted because someone either quit or got fired. All they care about number and if you arent producing they will force you into going to straight commission until you quit. They post your job online while you are still in it.

The Director of Business Development lies nonstop and wants you to lie to referral sources in the community and have you promote services they arent able to staff. They self-refer patients in the community just to meet quota.

The owner only cares about Money and does not care about patients or his employees. They have many of lawsuits against them from previous employees(just google, you will see).

DONT interview or work for this company. They also make you sign a noncompete. You can work for other HH companies and make way more and not be as stressed about losing your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I hope you feel good sleeping at night knowing you manage a shady business and putting the senior community at risk just because you want to make extra money and meet numbers. You should focus more of your investment into rewarding GOOD employees and not try and get rid of them when they have a bad week.

Different than other places. A lot of stress on patient care. Refreshing.
