I have been working at Nissan North America full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Company has a business plan that is Great and Driven to be an industry leader. Fair compensation, great people to work with, good benefits, awesome diversity of responsibilities. Great place to get your feet wet, if you can keep up - you will succeed anywhere.

Cons

unreasonable expectations with few resources, unreasonable demand on management, no work life balance.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support your people and work on their requests, the reasonable ones. Take care of the people and support them with the resources needed to be successful - they will be the reason the Company achieves its plan.

I have been working at Nissan North America full-time

    Pros

    - Emphasis on rotating through different roles and departments gives you good exposure and career development opportunities
    - People are generally great to work with
    - Excellent products

    Cons

    - Terrible healthcare benefits. They should be embarrassed.
    - IT is insanely understaffed with limited budgets and the entire company suffers as a result
    - Politics and bureaucracy can be hard to stomach. Very much a "who you know" culture - you have to play the game to get ahead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The cost cutting mentality has to give (quite) a bit. Systems are so outdated and behind the times that you're actually losing a lot money due to inefficiencies than you're "gaining" by not putting budget towards improvements.

I have been working at Nissan North America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Cross-cultural/Cross-functional opportunities. A lot of learning and growing opportunmities. If HR decides you have potential they take good care of you. The interaction with the products can be exciting.

    Cons

Due to the Japanese mentality, flexibitity is not one of the strenghts of the company. Many processes are useless or out of date. Communication with Japan is not always easy or efficient. Sometimes some top down decisions do not make sense and there is not a robust process to challenge them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency regarding growing opportunities is required. A process to be able to challenge some top down decisions needs to be implemented. Allignment of priorities, KPIs and objectives is necessary in order to avoid conflicting situations (i.e. increase sales volume with incentives even if that will hurt the per unit profit or keep the profit even if the volume target may not be achieved?)
