Former Employee - Software Developer in Wrocław (Poland)
Former Employee - Software Developer in Wrocław (Poland)

I worked at Nokia Networks full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

- great place for fresh grads
- trainings and opportunities for self-development - depends on the manager
- not much stress and good work atmosphere - depends on the manager
- big, well-regarded, stable company

Cons

- depends on the project, but usually lots of maintenance work and bug fixing
- dependency on higher management in distant places, many meaningless telecom meetings, and other corpo-like elements
- low salary growth rate

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trying to please some very demanding clients too hard, by letting them have too much influence on work of developers, may hurt morale, cost too much time/effort and simply turn out to not be worth it.

Recommends
Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Nokia Networks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

flexibility in the work, fair, open and good relationship on the working level and mid management

    Cons

Siemens was a great company, Nokia was even greater. after the merger everything went down in high speed. for all my time I spend with NSN there was a 2-Class Employee, 1st class Nokia, Second Class Siemens even all belongs to one company. for the same job and position in the same office some "Ex-Nokia" for 3-4 time the salary as "ex-Siemens" emplyees based on not harmonized benefit plans.
for instance Heath-Recreation Club was paid even 2 years after the merger to them whom received it before (obviously only Nokia), denied to whom which never received it. You should konw that this benfits was crucial in Kuwait because nothing to do otherwise and and the membership cost about 2500 Euro/yer for the familiy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

to look after the interest of the employees and not only of their own interest. this is for the MEA Region Management

    Disapproves of CEO
