Pros

Good market position as #2 supplier in telecom infrastructure equipment.

Cons

This is a joint venture company between the cellular infrastructure divisions from Nokia and Siemens. They are still trying to find their way in melding the 2 companies together. They need to get better processes in place and improve quality.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace your newly acquired Motorola Solutions employes. (NSN acquired MSI infrastructure division in 2011)

Reshuffle the people. Same management sticking around. Need to have fresh dedicated accountable management in the top to survive.

I worked at Nokia Networks full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Bringing together the combined development teams and markets from Motorola, Nokia and Siemens should have built a stronger joint venture than the individual smaller groups.

    Cons

Since the joint venture was unable to make the transition to being a sustainable, profitable company, the reaction to lay off 17,000 seemed to be a panic reaction to right size.
