I have been working at Nokia full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Global company with tremendous reach. Significant potential for a turn-around. Services with tens or hundreds of millions of users.

Cons

Lots of interaction with Finland/Europe and Beijing which poses time zone challenges. Very competitive hardware landscape continuous to challenge market position.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate alternatives to the Windows Phone strategy specifically Android (for high-end) and Firefox OS (for mid- to low-end).

I have been working at Nokia as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Your coworkers are incredibly talented people with diverse backgrounds from all over the world. You get to work in a beautiful office with many perks. The opportunity to make big differences changing the company's direction and outlook is there, and is very exciting.

    Cons

The layoffs during the time I was there created a nervous, dampened atmosphere. The "Goodbye after X years" emails got very depressing after the first dozen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow up a little closer with interns -- give them a list of things to handle, instead of one at a time with dead time between.

    Recommends
    No opinion of CEO
