I have been working at Noodles & Company part-time for less than a year
Pros – Free food quite often or really cheap, free bus pass, nice people to work with( not all managers are included in this) convenient location.
Cons – horrible hours. no compassion when father was really sick and i had to miss three shifts, even though i covered and stayed longer to hep them out countless times before. never get the days off i request even if it was 2 months in advance and i was the first person to ask for it. only know the schedule a week in advance so you can't plan anything because i never get the days off i ask for. new hires get paid more than people that have been there a long time; only way to get a raise it to move up to a manager position. Kinda promised a shift manager position when hired but ended up being just an employee. never properly trained, more of "monkey see, monkey do" when i joined. the menus were changed and the construction left a mess even though they said they were going to clean it up so when the general manager came in the next morning, the closing manager was about to get in trouble even though it was not his fault. important people were even there when they were starting and said they would make sure it was cleaned but they did not do that.
Advice to Senior Management – be more fair and consistent. make sure people are trained by a manager, not the staff. if some one works hard and helps out the company by doing extra shifts and covering for other people when they don't show up, don't give them the short end of the stick when a family emergency comes up for a few shifts.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
