    I worked at Nordstrom

    Pros

It was a paid internship, which is hard to find. I learned more than I ever thought while working retail. I met a lot of great friends.

    Cons

The schedule can be grueling at times. I had a hard time balancing my social and work lives. I couldn't ever plan anything because the schedule is always different.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall, the management provided me with alot of positive reinforcement.

I have been working at Nordstrom

    Pros

I enjoyed the people I worked with and the scenery was great.

    Cons

The company policy is to crowd the sales floor which starves the people who have committed to working there. There is no loyalty to those who have been there. Also, management (usually unexperienced teens) turns their cheek to aggressive sales people. This behavior is unethical and is THEFT. Management sees a sales person with big numbers. The reality is they are stealing from their co-workers and rewarded for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring childred and take care of those who have helped build the company. I have since moved on a few years ago and started a very sucessful company of my own. I use Nordstrom's policies as something not to do. Business is booming and my employees love their jobs. Wake up Nordstrom!
