I worked at Nordstrom full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Some customers can be a lot of fun to work with

    Cons

    -Management is AWFUL!
-You are pushed to the end of your sanity to squeeze every dime you possibly can out of your customer.
-Even if you exceed your sales goals it's still not enough and only sets the bar higher for the next day/event/etc.
-Managers micro-manage you instead of keeping busy with their own work (maybe they don't have enough to do?).

This was the worst work experience I've ever had in my life. And that's saying a lot coming from someone who has worked in the retail and sales industry for over 7 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Once your employees are trained trust them to build their own business! No need for micromanaging! Especially in a commissioned environment! Reward your employees for the goals they accomplish (sales or otherwise).
