I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent discount on sale items. Fun environment most of the time. Sometimes great perks like winning tickets to events or merchandise.

    Cons

Commission sales=returns and stolen sales. Can be an extremely edgey environment during slow times. Certain people ruin it for everyone and never get fired.

    Advice to Management

Don't get overwhelmed. It is your job to help your employees sell! Respect!

I worked at Nordstrom as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great, Positive Atmosphere - Competent Management - Great Customer Service Policies that help increase metrics - Earning potential is unlimited (Commission-based)

    Cons

    - Commission-based, so watch out for coworkers poaching your clients - Can get tiring pretty quickly - Very limited in terms of upward mobility (Salesperson, Management, Corporate) - Eventually you do find a ceiling to your earning potential
