I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Ambition to be the best Specialty Fashion Retailer across all channels
Sense that the company is growing in new and exciting directions (mostly through online growth and other new technologies, as well as in-store customer experiencs)
Downtown Seattle location
Work/life balance
Humility ingrained in the culture
Still a family business at heart

Cons

There is resistance to change at some levels
Cubicle culture
Idling capacity in the IT organization
Low pay relative to other large Seattle employers

    I worked at Nordstrom full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    They train you in customer service and it helps when looking for jobs after you leave because they know you have great customer service skills.

    Cons

    If you work part time it takes twice as long to get a pay raise. Which sucks, I would rather have it be based on merit because people who are ranked below you make more money than you do.
