I worked at Nordstrom full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Great pay and salaries. Solid benefits, 401K match and profit sharing. Opportunity to grow as far as you want with ample support and great mentors.

Cons

Must be a self starter. Can not, should not rely on others to walk you through your new position in order to learn. Can take over your life and demand way more than the 40 hour work week.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set clear expectations and examples on how to get there. Keep the employee benefits as a top priority.

    Pros

Their aren't any pros run as far away as you can.

    Cons

Constant crap from fellow employees as well as upper management. If you ever have a problem at work count on them to be completely indifferent. If you have any hope of keeping your job plan on playing the role of yes man day in day out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people fairly, everyone of your employees works for the same company. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Do not verbally abuse employees ever.
