Amazing company - just be careful what department you end up in.

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Roseville, CA

ProsCompetitive pay (and commission); opportunity to make A LOT of money even in entry-level positions; company is like a family - people WANT to get to know you, even if you're on a different floor. Lots of room for advancement - hires from within. Open door policy truly is open - even the store manager is constantly available to you. Good benefits, including gratis. Usually pretty flexible to work around school schedules, but not other jobs.

ConsFavoritism - nearly all departments favor some employees over others, but some departments are particularly bad. If you have a new or poor manager, don't expect a lot of product training. You will show up on your first day, and be told to fold until someone comes into the department -- then sell to them. Not much guidance. Personal stylists that are on your floor are often not held accountable for their customers, so you may end up cleaning up after them a lot which cuts into your sales time. The new register hubs that they have and a pain to work around and on, and feel sketchy because your customer is now on the same side as you when you're handling cash.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain, train, train! Train your employees! Shadow them, give advice, help them become the best salesperson they can be. And for heaven's sake, don't steal sales from your associates - their success is your success, there isn't enough to go around.
