I worked at Nordstrom full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

money, flexibility, good people to work with, great boss (I was lucky), the draw, clean common areas (makes a huge difference), working with pretty stuff, proximity to house, nice customers.

    Cons

the fluxuation of funds, physically exhausting, no weekends for you, no holidays for you, different schedule every week, unruly, snide customers, droning work, not mentally challanging, you often get stuck doing someone elses work and missing customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find good assistant managers. Be aware of how you deliver your message or assignment. Be direct but kind. My boss did this often, and it made a huge different - thank me and our team for doing what we do. We work hard, tell us, you appreciate us and you see what we do.
