I worked at Nordstrom full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are in the footwear department you get 10% commission. Which is the best department to work for. As long as you meet your goals you have nothing to worrt about.

    Cons

Like any job, you have to play politics. Upper management aren't sociable and are not very helpful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lead by example. Leave your personal issues at the door. Making friends with your co-workers will not get you promoted. Keep your eye on the prize.

I worked at Nordstrom as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

There's a great company culture and work ethic. You can tell that they genuinely care about their employees and helping each employee work towards their top potential.

    Cons

The hours of working retail widely vary. You also have to be prepared to work with all sorts of customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be great if the internship had more opportunities in the corporate offices.
