  1. For a part-time retail customer service job, you can't get better than this

I have been working at Nordstrom

    Pros

Exactly as title states; the commission rate is extremely rewarding and especially in retail.

    Cons

In the end, it is retail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although the "use best judgement" foundation for service is good, some of the more emphasized techniques are somewhat cheesy and often times turn off potential customers.

  2. Best job ever as a student!

I worked at Nordstrom part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Commission based pay allows you to earn more on a low time commitment. Customer service experience gain is outstanding.

    Cons

Everyday is a work day even holidays. People tend to be superficial in this environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should focus on reorder point instead of micromanaging sales. I can't recall how many time I had to turn a customer away because I did not have what she wanted in stock.
