Former Employee - Loss Prevention Manager in Los Angeles, CA

    I worked at Nordstrom full-time

    Pros

The company has REC meeting where everyone cheers really loud and smiles

    Cons

This company does not look our for its employees. There is very little support for the store associates and the Human Resources department is the worst I have seen. Its interesting to listen to the Share Holder Calls, I always wondered what Nordstrom company they are talking about. The Loss Prevention Program is also a complete joke and the Divisionals and the VP Tony Black have no idea how to manage their program. To summarize it, it pretty much comes down to Lip Service from them. They can not be trusted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train and backup your associates. Don't dump every decision on HR as they are former sales floor managers and have no idea themselves what they are talking about. Stop the lip service and back your LP managers. Replaced Tony Black with someone who has some idea what he is talking about. Get rid of the LP ranking report, it does not reflect your talent.
