    Pros

The management seems nice, they appear to support the growth of their employees, and the hours can be flexible.

    Cons

Was hired to be full-time, yet it was so slow I was frequently told to go home earlier or not come in during scheduled shifts. Therefore there's no hope of me ever getting any health benefits. And for a commission based position, it's very hard to actually take home enough money to make working there worthwhile. When items that are returned within one year of purchase, the commission is deducted from your existing sales. The customers know how lenient the return policy is and constantly use it to their benefit.

    Advice to Management

Offer a base hourly wage, so that employees can have some kind of control over their take home pay. At this time the only people who seem happy working there are the college kids who dont need the money and just work there for the discount.

  2. Low base pay, store return policy too lenient for commission sales

    Pros

    Good training process, Good discount.

    Cons

Since Nordstrom has the "best" return policy you get reductions from you commission pay ALL of the time! Sometimes you'll get your check and see a deduction from MONTHS ago from a customer just "renting" a dress to return it.

    Advice to Management

Offer a high base pay since you know customer returns will be a huge issue.
