Proud to have worked there, but they were not flexible toward a quality of life outside of work.

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Brand recognition. Everyone loves Nordstrom.

Cons

Very competitive atmosphere that tends to lend employees' to gravitate toward cliques that are not welcoming to newcomers.

Advice to Management

Do not promise things you can't deliver just to get someone hired. For instance, I was promised flexibility to go back to school. Yet come the time to return, my department manager was not willing to give a set schedule for me to make it to class.

I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great environment to work in with very supportive managers. An excellent place to launch a career in the fashion and/or retail field. Overall a really nice place to work!

    Cons

The hours on the retail store side are irregular, and the work is surprisingly tiring. However that's to be expected with any retail job and you know that when you accept.

  2. Fast paced, exciting

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits were great, pay was good and every sign pointed towards a strong likelihood for upwards mobility.

    Cons

Incompetent coworkers, cumbersome HR. Too much focus on putting on a good face rather than getting real business done.

    Advice to Management

Skip the silly pep rallies, we're adults, and let us get back to work.
