Pros

They match up to 4% for your 401K. It's a fun environment, you get gratis.

Cons

Higher selling employees get to do whatever. Most of the employees are recent college grads, so they are VERY young, and sometimes not mature enough, especially within the sensitive setting of lingerie. Benefits aren't favorable.

Advice to Management

Treat everyone the same, regardless of how much they sell. Sure everyone should try their best, but its discouraging to see some people favored over others, especially when they're so much younger and less experienced.

    Pros

Everything. It's a great company to work for. Just ask the hundreds of employees who have/ were employeed at Nordstrom for many years. They care about their employees. Other retailers need to take notes! They are the best in everything they do. Lots of room for growth, promoting from within, good benefits, discount, they carry everything from Crocs to Gucci and Chanel, beautiful store visuals, great store locations, good leadership, corporate is professional - friendly and helpful. You will meet a lot of interesting, talented, hardworking people, You can make a lot of money as a Salesperson in their Full-Line stores. The give you the tools needed to suceed. Other positions pay WAY better compared to other retailers. Nordstrom rack included - it's fast paced and lots of room for growth too. You can actually make good money and still have life. Love the store rallies. Wish I could of started working here a long time ago!

    Cons

Not much. The long hours can really beat you up, especially if you work in a busy store. Commission Sales = fluctuating paychecks. The returns will kill your paycheck if you're just in it for the money. You need to have a passion for the company and Customer Service to succeed here. There are some managers that aren't qualified enough to lead. Like every retailer, there is negativity, gossiping and brown-nosers, learn to ignore it. A lot of competition on the Salesperson, expect greedy Sharks! Worn returns suck! Expect some "moody" customers, handle them carefully.

    Advice to Management

Don't put so much stress on yourself. You're only Human. Keep dong a good job.
