I worked at Nordstrom full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

get a solid customer service background..people from every industry love to see it on my res
make good money if you can bust your ass selling
good benefits
fun culture

Cons

feels shallow sometimes..
can by very political (its all who you know, or who's butt you want to kiss)
prepare to get in the clique or get left behind
working weekends and late nights

invest in your quality people and not the fakers

    I have been working at Nordstrom as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    - One of the best IT organizations for the retail industry.
    - Everyone is laser focused on the customer experience.
    - Everyone is very professional and enthusiastic for what they are doing.
    - Innovation happens at the company level. Innovation is not merely an empty, marketing term.

    Cons

    Maybe the company is so big that even a very small thing can take months to be done.
