I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Minimal supervision, no customers, quiet, no dress code, can listen to music while you work, brainless work, great bosses, great pay and benefits.

Cons

3rd shift (if you don't like it; I do)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the current manager and get rid of the useless assisstant manager so we can have more room for equipment that we need.

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

An excellent example of how a company can sustain profits and a great work experience. I was 18 and hired as a gift wrapper in Tyson's Corner in McLean. I loved the challenge, the people, and was promoted to sales in Kids Wear Boys. They treat you like you are part owner of the store and customers are individuals to be listened to and helped. One amazing sales person I worked with was Betty! She had build up so many personal customers people would book appointments with her weeks in advance. I was a kid then but my time at Nordstrom made me a life long customer. I met Blake Nordstrom once when he came in for a white glove day, that when they check to see how clean everything is, it's not at all stuffy or scary it's full of pride. Also, if you leave on good terms you can always go back if positions are available. I moved from Va to Menlo Park NJ and worked at that Nordstrom for a holiday season. They do things right, when you call customer service they say "hello how may I help you" not press 1 for this and 2 for that, it's all personal and real.

    Cons

Retail can be taxing in terms of working holidays, weekends, and general floor management. This is just part of any retail job, however the fact that you can take your customers to any department and continue shopping makes it much better. This is the cons section and it's difficult to state one. lol

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.
