Nortel Networks – “Pros and Cons”

Pros

I found Nortel a great place to work to learned disciplined approach to technical work. First level managment did a great job in supporting their teams. Politics was at a minimum at the technical specialist level for work.

Cons

The main negative I found was being a small fish in a big sea. Learning new skills occurred at a very slow scale due to roles being very specialized.

Advice to Senior Management

Need strong strategic decisions to recover from its current slump. Bring back the innovation that made the original Nortel a leader
