I worked at North Carolina National Guard

    Pros

Civil service pay and benefits are the same as anywhere else. Military leave is helpful and depending on years of service you can't beat the vacation plan the government has.

    Cons

Unless you are in the inner circle, you may be prevented from upward mobility. Promotions on the civilian and military side are not so much what you know and experience, but rather who you know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The organziation needs a good house cleaning. The governor's office responsible for over sight and really needs to scrutinize who is running it.
