    Opportunities to do fundamental researches and write journal papers.

    Cons

    A lot of corporate companies do not recognize the years you spent as a post doc. So if you want to eventually go to work in the industries, don't waste your time as a post doc.

    Pros

    good place to study and work, nice weather at Raleigh, all kinds of majors except medical school. as long as you have a nice advisor, your RA life here will be great

    Cons

    there are too many students in some classes and major, would be better if keep the quality instead of the quantity.

    reduce the total number of graduate students in some major
