I have been working at Northern Trust full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Typically stable company, but as all companies in the financial industry are being beaten up these days, Northern is doing very well. Still offers a pension plan and 401k matching.

    Cons

Not as friendly to employees as years past. Northern is getting too big to "care about individual employees"

I have been working at Northern Trust full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very strong company history. Looking for ways to improve and grow business in the area. Forward thinking.

    Cons

Forward thinking, but backword acting. Trying to be like the other guys, rather than capitalizing on what has made them who they are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be proactive rather than reactive. Look to the past for things that have set you apart. Focus on client service and less on increasing profitability, or you are going to loose your position as number one wealth management firm.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
