    Great Coworkers. Poor Senior Management

    I worked at Northrop Grumman

    Pros

Great people to work with. Many of the lower tier of management and coworkers care about their colleagues, and the projects they are assigned. (1) My last department head wanted to make sure I was OK when a potentially dangerous situation came up in my private life. (2) Being new to the type of equipment I was going to be using, a few of my coworkers mentored me with some of the different systems used to accomplish our jobs. (3) The weekly lunches with the test group promoted team bonding.

    Cons

Poor senior management. The impression I got while working there, with reference to the senior management, was the senior management cared more about their raises and preferred stock options than they did about the people on the floor. Another thing is the downgrading of the benefits package, particularly the medical benefits; the workers and lower tier management have to pay more out-of-pocket money for a doctor's appointment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the benefits package back to where they were a few short years ago. Prove to the people on the floor it is not just about the profits, but the people on the manufacturing and production floors count for something. It is the people on the manufacturing and production floors who put out a good quality product that gives Northrop Grumman its good reputation around the world.
