Northrop Grumman Electronics Engineer in Rolling Meadows, IL:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

Relatively stable place of employment. Great projects and good benefits. Overall this company has a good name and reputation. This may help your career in the future. You will have the privilege of working with some of the brightest people in the industry.

Cons

Methods and ways of doing things are a bit outdated. The culture can be bit negative or unfriendly at times. Not a lot of opportunity for advancement. You can get stuck in a dead end position with no future if you are not careful. There is too much of a caste type hierarchy. Such as cube sizes based on rank and numbered parking spaces. The pay tends to be less than most other companies in the area and there are rarely bonuses or profit sharing. Even though executive management has great plans and visions for the future, middle management hinders these polices from being actively carried out.

Advice to Senior Management

Don't promote rude arrogant people to positions of authority based on favoritism. Look at for the best interests of the employees and company instead of trying to advance yourself at others expense.
