Northrop Grumman – “A challenging, satisfying place to work”
Pros
If you want to help create cutting edge projects, this is the place to be. You are not held back by your job title. I started out in the M3 Shop (PA Tech) and now lead a team creating a major sub-assembly. If you are ambitious, you can move around quite a bit at the company. I can't include too much personal detail, except to say...it's a great place to spend your career if you stay focused.
Cons
Nothing moves fast. It's a combination of customer requirements and the bureaucracy of a large company. But, no union work rules, so you do have a lot more freedom to get the job done.
Not enough parking at some of the buildings is a hassle.
Advice to Senior Management
Get down to the shop / highbay floor and talk to some of the average employees about what is going on.
Or better yet....provide anonymous feedback on Section Heads and Center Managers. In my former area, there is so much nepotism and office politics, but upper management seems clueless.
Put a standalone computer in each area that allows anonymous access to the Employee Forum.
Currently you must sign in to post on the Forum.....so you are identified. This limits critical discourse.
