At the mercy of local management - if they good you're good.. if not..

ProsBig company. Lots of moving possibilities. Salary decent. Benefits good. More smart technicians than deadweight seatfillers.

ConsManagement in remote areas is very definition of good-ol-boy-club. Overseas is even worse - to the point of being embarassing and incompent enough to make next contract unwinnable.

Advice to Senior ManagementBuild a two-way review system. Have the managers be rated anonymously by the people they rate and keep that in their records. Verify they are qualified and implement a trial period or set a term limit for entry level management.

Generous benefit… Cons: Government contractor subject to an extra layer of government controls… Advice to Senior Management: You don't always have to sell the gold plated custom Cadillac.
