Former Employee - Project Engineer
Former Employee - Project Engineer

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time

Pros

*Overseas assignment*; good people; good benefits. HR/IT could be challenging to figure out, but had good support stateside. Enjoyed my time there. Never had significant interaction with stateside operations.

Cons

Difficult to get overtime; projects are of course on a budget so you feel like a number. Did not feel like I could move up/promote. You would have to move to another location; apply to a higher position. Couldn't figure out the pay scale.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Our section's VP did come out and visit; this was nice. Not sure how it is now; he left. Advice - always value your people out there working the contract; they are the ones making you the money at the home office.

Overall good tenure, but they lied about impending layoffs and the HR representative didn't have a clue.

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The coworkers were great to work with during my time with Northrop Grumman.

    Cons

Senior executives just care about their bonuses and give lip services to engagement but don't care about the development of their employees. Some of my managers didn't have a clue about what was going on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take of your employees and they'll take you to success. While the stock price is important it won't be sustained if the employees are engaged; it takes more than lip service with engagement.

    Disapproves of CEO
