Northrop Grumman – “Good place to work”

Pros

Like many defense contractors, your mileage may vary depending on what contract you support. It is difficult to give pros and cons for the company as a whole. In my experience, Northrop Grumman does a great job of hiring great talent but fails to keep the best talent. The work environment is collegial and enjoyable, but the pay and benefits are at best at par or slightly sub-par.

Cons

Only criticism is that pay raises seemed to be very butter spread. The raise given to the best performer was only slightly better than the worst performer. This strategy hardly inspires exceptional effort.

Advice to Senior Management

Difficult to tell who management is with all the organizational restructuring that goes on. Focus on making employee feel valued with pay equal to performance. Most companies do a fair job of work life balance, it all comes down to pay.
