I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (less than a year)

Pros

They have help programs that help insiders find work if their contract ends. And total strangers within the company will help you network.

Cons

Once you're outside the "family" you're suddenly an orphan.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the connections open awhile once the employee has left the company for fault of their own.

I worked at Northrop Grumman as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

Was given meaningful design work, not just busy work. The other employees were very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had. The management were very helpful in getting me the training I needed, as well as allowing me to experience different fields.

    Cons

The location is in a very expensive suburb, the commute from anywhere around is usually pretty bad due to traffic. The pay raises and advancement opportunities are becoming more and more scarce, especially with sequestration and the governmental shutdown.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job, keep up the developmental support.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman

    Pros

Great compensation, cutting edge work (in some areas), and very flexible.

    Cons

Due to changes in government funded work, they seem to be a little stingy about training and development.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's hard knowing where you belong when you're contracting for a different group and separated from NG. Would like more communications and understanding our roles, even if being used more like staff than consultants.
