A mixed bag overall, although that may just have been the location I was at

Summer Intern (Former Employee) Warner Robins, GA

ProsAs an intern, I was paid reasonably well and was given real work, and a 2 person office on top of that. Some of the people there were very knowledgeable in a variety of domains.

ConsSome of the people there did not have basic knowledge of programming constructs in their projects.
Being an intern, I did not expect to receive phone calls over the weekend for basic problems.

Advice to Senior ManagementSome independent code review would be helpful.

    Not great, could be worse

Systems Engineer IV (Current Employee) Rolling Meadows, IL

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than 5 years

Pros: NG is very flexible with schedules. There are core hours, but as long as you cover those you can arrange your schedule to suit… Cons: The HR department will do everything they can to under pay you when you start and once they do the only way to catch back… Advice to Senior Management: If you want to put an end to the insane… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More

Pretty good work-life balance but relatively low pay and very limited opportunities for growth

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Carson, CA

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than 3 years

Pros: Surrounded by friendly, smart people, the work (of the company although not always of the individual) is meaningful and important. The navy and airforce customers… Cons: Funding issues, contract issues, poor management have gotten progressively worse over the 4 years of working here. Even work-life balance has suffered as people… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
