I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Comprehensive benefits for all employees. The 401K isn't bad, but the match is 3%.

Cons

Recent hires don't get a traditional pension plan. It's a contribution plan instead.

Advice to Management

I think that the company ought to do profit sharing again. They stopped a number of years ago.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Presence in 49 states. Plenty of opportunities depending on your skill set and where you are would like to live.

    Cons

Must relocate in some circumstances to take advantage of advancement opportunities. Even though the company offers educational benefits, the company does not take advantage of the fact that the company funded a degree program and actively advance one's career.

    Pros

The people that actually do the work are highly qualified.

    Cons

Company is not a CMMI 5, Some managers need a lot of (re-)education of process.

    Advice to Management

Need to listen to the developers on the ground doing the work; and need better metrics.
