I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Continuous application of state of the art technology. Good employee benefits, including work-life balance. Good financial benefits, including matched 401(k), and paid overtime. Reasonably secure working environment.

High pressure to meet highly aggressive schedules. Increasing reliance on outsourced business functions creates an atmosphere of "why bother"?

    Pros

The people I worked with is what made it great. I have many life long friends and professional contacts from my years of working there.

    Cons

In recent years there was a tendency to have too many layers of management and not enough workers, although it did allow me the opportunity to broaden my work experience.

    Reduce the layers of management.
