I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than a year)

Pros

big company with good benefits. if you land in a sector where they let you transfer around you can have many different jobs over your career while never having to leave the company. however that was not the case for people on my project.

Cons

weather you enjoy your job or not will vary greatly from love to hate depending on the project and team you are on. more so than other large companies i've worked for.

Advice to Management

be nice to your employees! we are all on the same team.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work-life balance, flexible 80 hour work week

    Cons

You will be working with people that are often very long in their career and are only looking for a paycheck. There is often no personal development with my direct management team and since I was supporting a government contract, there was no opportunity for advancement since I was slotted for the position only.

    Advice to Management

Start looking at the younger talented employees and start developing their skills for other positions.

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits including a nice matching on the 401k

    Cons

The contract I worked on was never expected to succeed. We billed a dozen resources in order to tap out the contract when three or four would have sufficed to perform the work. At the end of the contract there was nothing useful for the client to use. There are so many levels of management it was not possible to determine how many people were between me and the CEO. I stopped counting at 10.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the unbillable layers of management and offer real value to your customers.
