Pros

Good pay and benefits including a nice matching on the 401k

Cons

The contract I worked on was never expected to succeed. We billed a dozen resources in order to tap out the contract when three or four would have sufficed to perform the work. At the end of the contract there was nothing useful for the client to use. There are so many levels of management it was not possible to determine how many people were between me and the CEO. I stopped counting at 10.

Advice to Management

Get rid of the unbillable layers of management and offer real value to your customers.

    Pros

Good salary and cutting edge projects.

    Cons

Once you are hired you become a number. If you are geographically separated from the main offices you are on your own. Don't do anything wrong because the company does not believe in second chances or making mistakes even insignificant ones. Very much an "us and them" mentality...no common culture or concern for personnel. Too many people just taking up space and earning a salary. Team concept is only given lip service. No room for growth in smaller offices. They expect loyalty but none is returned.

    Advice to Management

Try considering that your employees are people and not simply resources to pad the stockholders bottom line. To some employees a job is much more than the salary. And remember that loyalty goes both ways.

Northrop Grumman has good benefits but the leadership is spotty. Some are very good and dome are very bad.

    Pros

Great benefits with competitive salaries; if you are liked you are afforded great opportunities

    Cons

Fast-paced unreasonable expectations. No work life balance. Expected to be available 24/7

    Advice to Management

Walk the walk that you talk and be transparent. You hire people to do their job, let them do it!
