I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent compensation. Worth staying if you are still eligible for a pension.

    Cons

After 40, you are no longer appreciated if you choose to remain technical. Bonus structure design to recognize managers, promotion primarily designated to those in the good old boy network. Voice these to line mgmt, your career is over!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mgmt is killing the company and stop lining your own pockets with bennies and then leaving the company 2 years later!

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits including a nice matching on the 401k

    Cons

The contract I worked on was never expected to succeed. We billed a dozen resources in order to tap out the contract when three or four would have sufficed to perform the work. At the end of the contract there was nothing useful for the client to use.
There are so many levels of management it was not possible to determine how many people were between me and the CEO. I stopped counting at 10.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the unbillable layers of management and offer real value to your customers.
