Pros

There are economies of scale in terms of benefits and opportunities available to a world-wide multi billion dollar corporation. There were opportunities to work with clients from the east coast to the west coast across the continental united states.

Cons

The company lacks the agility of smaller more nimble businesses. The most recent thrust has been to raise the bar for performance such that each year the level of effort and significance of accomplishment rises to define a new level for achieving performance expectations.

    Pros

Modern work environment. At least in the shipbuilding sector, the work was very stable. If a person put effort into their job, it was easy to stand out.

    Cons

I did not feel that the pay was adequate. Most engineers had an easy time leaving for a raise if they were willing to move. There was very little need for advanced education.

    Advice to Management

Work to close the pay gap. Provide better opportunities and incentives to engineers with advanced educations and the desire to accelerate fast.

  2. A great place to work: good people, good products.

    Pros

This is a good place to work. The company is the leading UAV manufacturer for the Defense Department. Provided a lot of great experience from design to flight test. The people are smart and helpful. Location in San Diego is great.

    Cons

San Diego is expensive compared to most of the country. But there are very few cons to working here.
