    Pros

NGC provides the stability and career progression that one might expect from a company of its size, but is also oriented toward taking care of employees.

    Cons

Probably like many of its peers, NGC can be suffocating, slow-moving, and its compliance processes can be mind-numbing. Agility is not a consideration.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great care has to be taken to ensure "compliance" does not replace "performance". Line Managers must be supported, not hindered.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman

    Pros

They are not interested in rapid turnover of employees.
They will give you lots of responsibility.
They value loyalty, while understanding personal needs.
You can work on a diverse number of projects at once.
Good benefits and stability from the larger Corporation.

    Cons

No big contracts this year (although they may have some in the next year).
Available skills training is mostly geared toward skills that would be used in the defense industry.
Their funding is subject to federal and Navy administration.
    Long product development timelines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To the older generation, job stability meant that you could stay at the same job for a long time.
To the newer generation, job stability means being able to keep your job skills current and valuable so that WHEN you have to change employers, which is often these days, it will not be very difficult.
