I have been working at Northwestern Mutual full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Having worked 18 years at an oil refinery where the employer basically "owned" you NML is a great place to work. I missed a lot of birthdays, Christmas's, etc because I needed to be at the refinery but that is not the case with NML. I can work hard and take time off when I need to The freedom is something that I could never give up. The retirement benefits rank #1 in the industry

Cons

Can't really think of anything because you get out what you put in.

I have been working at Northwestern Mutual full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great Training, and looks good on the old resume. You are your own boss essentially so you dictate your schedule and how much you make.

    Cons

100% Commission. If you are not from the area you are employed in or do not have a large number of contacts, be ready for some hard work and tough times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on possible brokerage positions with good clients that consistently meet new prospects, by offering the referrer a cut of the commission. Capital Financial Group already does this with their Reps.
