I worked at Northwestern Mutual as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

Great sales training, on-phone and in person communication skills dramatically improved. Great opportunity to make money if you are very personable but don't take rejection personally.

    Cons

They basically ask you to call all your family and family friends and meet with them and try to sell them insurance or get them to give you friends they know. It was personally uncomfortable asking a lot of these things of friends and family. A lot of work to get the licenses and work hours are flexible but only a small stipend if you do not make any sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make students more aware of program requirements and duties before they are accepted. Great training and experience but a lot of work for a frustrating process as a college student.
